Bill Gates talks about philanthropy, "Personal Agent" and technology in new Reddit AMA

Although Bill Gates has long distanced himself from day-to-day work at Microsoft, he has kept himself in the mix by recently becoming a technology advisor for the company supporting CEO Satya Nadella. Today, Gates took some time to answer questions for his third Reddit AMA ("Ask Me Anything").

A majority of the questions for Gates focused on his philanthropic efforts including his recent investment in a system that can create drinking water and electricity from feces. He stated that while this technology was available, it most likely won't be widespread for another five years.

Naturally, Gates was also questioned about his thoughts on technology. During the AMA, Gates was able to discuss a project that he is currently working on titled "Personal Agent." Gates explained that Personal Agent is a piece of software that will remember everything and organize it in a manner that will allow you to find things that are important. While this is very broad explanation, he hopes that this software will bridge the gap that is created by having too many different applications performing different tasks. This streamlining would effectively make things more efficient and it would work across all devices.
