Chucky game announced

One of the most popular and, well, goofiest slasher horror movie series of all time will be heading to your PC or game console in the near future. TiKGames issued a press release this week announcing that it would be bring the lead character of the Child's Play movie series, the possessed child's doll Chucky, to life via downloadable games for the PC and game consoles. The deal was announced this week in collaboration with the movie's owners Universal Pictures. The game is due for release sometime this fall.

The press release says that the game will let players control Chucky himself as he uses "his full repertoire of stealth and guile to dispatch victims in a multitude of distinctive methods." TikGames' co-founder and vice president Alex Tikhman is quoted as saying, "Fans have been asking for a Chucky game for years and, soon, gamers around the world will be able to enjoy highly-entertaining, interactive, downright gory experiences with this brand." This is a rather big change for TiKGames who in the past has been known for releasing family friendly casual games such as Cinema Tycoon, Hamsterball and Flower Shop: Big City Break.

The movie series began in 1998 with the original Child's Play as serial killer Charles Lee "Chucky" Ray, about to die because of a police detective's bullet, manages to transfer his soul into a child's doll (he also happens to be a voodoo practitioner). The series had four sequels where, among other things, Chucky managed to get a wife and son.
