Dell refreshes Vostro portfolio with new 5000 and 7000 models

Dell announced the Vostro 13 5000 and Vostro 15 7000, its latest additions to the Vostro family of laptops geared toward business professionals. Both the 13-inch and 15-inch models sport a display with Full HD resolution and narrow bezels.

The Vostro 13 5000 is touted as the thinnest and lightest Vostro model to have ever come from Dell, weighing only 1.18kg and measuring 14.9mm in thickness. It includes a new 2.7mm HD webcam, Waves MaxxAudio Pro, and SmartByte software for what Dell claims to be an improved video-conferencing experience.

Additionally, the higher-end Vostro 15 7000 promises enhanced performance as it is powered by Intel's Core i7 Coffee Lake-H six-core processors coupled with Nvidia's GeForce GTX 1650 graphics. It also comes with optional triple drive expandability storage and packs a 97 Wh battery.

Both laptop models also feature an optional single-sign-on fingerprint sensor and a native Trusted Platform Module (TPM 2.0) security chip. The Vostro 13 5000 will retail from $849 while the Vostro 15 7000 will go on sale from $1,149, with both laptops set for rollout beginning on May 16 via Dell's online marketplace.
