Intel Arc WHQL graphics driver 31.0.101.4644 fixes system hang, sleep and power cycle bug

Intel has released a new WHQL driver update for its Arc and Iris Xe GPUs. The version number for the update is 31.0.101.4644, and Intel has fixed a major bug that caused sleep, system hangs, and power cycle. In a blog post, Intel says it adds Game On support for the new EA football game Madden NFL 24. The company claims the new drivers will boost the game up to 87 fps on the Intel Arc A750 GPU at 1440p resolution.

The new driver update also has Game On support for Wayfinder, the new fantasy RPG from developer Airship Syndicate and publisher Digital Extremes. Both games launch on Steam on August 17.

In addition, the new drivers have firmware updates for some Intel Arc graphics cards. Intel says:

This latest version brings stability improvements, better fan behavior, bug fixes, and better compatibility with HDMI connections.

Driver installation may not complete successfully on certain notebook systems with both Intel Iris Xe + Iris Xe MAX devices. A system reboot and re-installation of the graphics driver may be required for successful installation.

INTEL ARC CONTROL FIXED ISSUES:

Virtual Camera may intermittently fail to engage on the Camera page.

Release Notes in Intel Arc Control driver page may show unformatted HTML data.

“Sort by" dropdown in the Games Page may be missing after using “Reset application to default.”

Toggling the Virtual Camera enablement may show as disabled during onscreen capture in the Capture page.

On-screen Capture and Highlights capture may turn off while using multiple displays when moving Intel Arc Control window across displays.

Clean Installation option may not be available in Arc Driver page while updating to WHQL driver.
