Microsoft cuts 20% off Surface Pro 4 with Core i5 and 4GB RAM; now $799... including the Pen

Last week, Microsoft began selling its Surface Pro 4 without the Surface Pen, for the first time since the Windows 10 tablet launched in late 2015. The 'no pen' option is only available on its entry-level Pro 4, which includes an Intel Core m3 processor, 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD, priced at $799 - that's $100 less than buying the same device with the Pen in the box.

But if you were planning to buy the most affordable model in the Surface Pro 4 range in the US, your money will now stretch a bit further. Microsoft has slashed $200 (20%) off its Intel Core i5 model with the same amount of RAM and storage, which usually costs $999.

That discount means that you can now get the Surface Pro 4 with Core i5 and 4GB RAM, including the Surface Pen, for the same price as a 'no pen' Core m3 model. You'll still have to purchase the Type Cover keyboard separately though.

The new deal began yesterday, immediately after Microsoft ended a $100 discount on exactly the same Core i5 model, which had been running since the beginning of January. The latest offer will end on February 4.
