Microsoft is inviting Windows Insiders to its October 2 Surface event

Last week, Microsoft sent out invitations to the press for an event in New York City on October 2, where the firm will announce what's next for its devices and services. As it turns out, the company is also inviting a select group of Windows Insiders to the event.

While the press event starts at 4pm, the Insider event is from 2pm-7pm. It starts out at Tortilla Flats on Washington St, and will move over to Industria Studios at 4pm, where Microsoft will announce its new products.

As far as hardware goes, we're expecting refreshed models of the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop with Intel's quad-core, eighth-generation Core processors. The focus will be more on services, and how those services integrate with the devices. You can certainly expect to hear about productivity, and how Microsoft's products can save you time while you're working.

We may even hear about a release date for the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, and some new features that will be arriving in the next update, codenamed 19H1. Of course, the firm's Ignite 2018 conference is the week before that, so this could all be old news by then.

If you want to check out the event page for the Insider event, you can find it here.
