Shootmania Storm to be launched January 23rd

The latest entry in the first person shooter genre now has a firm release date. Developer Nadeo and publisher Ubisoft have announced that Shootmania Storm will officially launch via download on January 23rd.

The game's official website has now offered gamers a price of $15.99 to purchase one copy of Shootmania Storm until the game's launch date, when the price will go up to $19.99. Gamers can also purchase three digital copies of the game for $39.99 until January 23rd and five copies for $63.99 until the game's launch.

In addition to the new launch date, Ubisoft announced that a new beta period will begin in December. This beta will add a number of new game maps, gameplay modes and player moves to Shootmania Storm, People who pre-order the game will gain access to the new beta period when it becomes available.

Shootmania Storm has been designed specifically to cater to the growing eSports genre. In addition to matchmaking and stats, the game will also include map and script editing tools, along with gameplay movie creation and editing tools. The gameplay itself strongly resembles the original Tribes, which was recently revived as a free-to-play game.
