Apex Legends coming to Nintendo Switch and Steam, also adding cross-play support

Respawn Entertainment's massively popular battle royale title Apex Legends is coming to Nintendo Switch and Steam. The game is also getting cross-play support across all platforms.

Respawn Entertainment's Apex Legends is entering two more platforms this fall, with EA confirming during its EA Play Live digital presentation today that hit battle royale is coming to the Nintendo Switch and Steam for the first time.

Also this fall, cross-play across all platforms will be enabled. Players across PC (Origin and Steam) Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch will be able to join the same servers to battle together and against each other, possibly with input-based matchmaking. EA has been leaning heavily into cross-play lately. Need for Speed Heat received support for the highly-requested feature last week, while Star Wars: Squadrons will be touting cross-play from launch.

The developer also dropped a new trailer detailing the upcoming Apex Legends Lost Treasures Collection limited-time event, seen above. Only snipers, shotguns, and Evo armor will be available in this mode, and surprisingly, standard respawn points are being removed to make way for Mobile Respawn Beacons.
