Microsoft adds two more games to Xbox One Backward Compatibility

Today is Tuesday, which means that Microsoft added two more games to the Xbox One Backward Compatibility list, including Dead Space Ignition and Escape Dead Island. The news comes just three days after the feature turned one-year-old, with the company announcing that there are now over 280 backward compatible games.

Last week saw the addition of Mass Effect 2 and 3 on Monday, Guardian Heroes and Operation Flashpoint: Red River on Tuesday, and Skate 3 and Scarygirl on Thursday. Here are today's new additions to the Backward Compatibility list:

Dead Space Ignition ($4.99)

Free download with pre-order of Dead Space 2 from participating retailers.* Dead Space 2 unlocks activated after completion of first hack and game save in Dead Space Ignition. In Dead Space Ignition you must survive the initial Necromorph outbreak on The Sprawl. The game blends a comic presentation with three unique hacking games. You’ll receive unlocks in Dead Space 2 including an exclusive suit. Can you survive the events leading up to Dead Space 2? *Free download requires prior reservation and unique redemption code from participating retailers. Dead Space Ignition is also available for purchase without the pre-order of Dead Space 2.

Escape Dead Island ($19.99)

Escape Dead Island is a Survival-Mystery adventure that follows Cliff Calo, who sets sail to document the unexplained events on Banoi. Arriving on the island of Narapela, he finds that not everything is as it seems. This title lets players delve into the Dead Island universe and unravel the origins of the zombie outbreak. Escape is just the beginning.

While backward compatible games are a great way to get "new" content on the cheap, don't forget about Games with Gold, which allows Xbox Live Gold members to grab four (two Xbox One and two backward compatible Xbox 360) free games per month, as long as you claim them within the specified dates.

It's also November 15, which means that it's your last day to grab The Escapists (Xbox One) - which was among last month's offers - and Monkey Island: SE (Xbox 360), which is among this month's titles. You can also get Super Dungeon Bros (Xbox One) until the end of the month, and beginning tomorrow, you'll be able to claim Murdered: Soul Suspect (Xbox One) and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon (Xbox 360).
