Microsoft has a new Windows Feature Experience Pack for Insiders

Today, Microsoft is releasing a new Windows Feature Experience Pack to Windows Insiders on the Beta and Release Preview channels. Specifically, it's Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3530.0, and it's anything but exciting.

There is exactly one change in this update:

  • We are improving the reliability of displaying the candidate list for users of the Input Method Editor (IME).

Back in November, Microsoft finally announced Windows Feature Experience Packs, despite Insiders having noticed them in Windows 10 for some time. They're a way to deliver new features without pushing a system update, which should be a more stable way of doing it. This could also end up being a way to push new features to older versions of the OS.

Unfortunately, we haven't seen anything come through as a Windows Feature Experience Pack that's actually interesting. Presumably, Microsoft has plans for it. Eventually, the company says that it's just going to be another part of the servicing pipeline, so we'll have feature updates, cumulative updates, Windows Feature Experience Packs, and all of the other ways that Microsoft updates its products.

This Windows Feature Experience Pack will arrive via Windows Update if you're on the Beta or Release Preview channel.
