Unboxing and first impressions of Motorola's Moto G6

Last month, Motorola announced the Moto G6 among five other devices from the G6 and E5 lineups. Four of the six are coming to the United States, including the E5 Play, E5 Plus, G6 Play, and of course, the G6, leaving out the E5 and the G6 Plus. Indeed, Motorola's lineup has become much more complicated since the days of just the Moto E, G, and X.

Like many phones at a lower price point, it borrows features from its higher end siblings like the Moto Z2 Force and the Moto X4. This includes the dual camera that has features like Selective Focus and Selective Black and White. With either feature, you'll need to take a photo with portrait mode enabled, and then you can either edit the blur, or the colors later on.

One thing that's new for the Lenovo subsidiary in the G6 is that it has an 18:9 display. You might recall that the Z2 Force and the X4 both had a more traditional 16:9 display. The 5.7-inch screen is a 1080p LCD.

Along with a Snapdragon 450 chipset, it comes with either 3GB or 4GB RAM, and either 32GB or 64GB of storage. The 3,000mAh battery supports Motorola's Turbo Charge too, which is pretty good considering that the phone starts at $249.
