Cricket Wireless will sell you a pre-owned Microsoft Lumia 650 for just $0.99 - no, really

If you've been looking for a new Windows phone, you might want to head down to your local Cricket Wireless retailer, as the AT&T-owned carrier is selling pre-owned Lumia 650 handsets for less than the cost of a can of Coke.

Indeed, at $0.99 (with activation), it's $19 cheaper than the other Windows phone that Cricket offers, the nearly three-year-old Nokia Lumia 635, a device that has no front camera, no flash on the rear, and a 4.5-inch 480p LCD. The Microsoft Lumia 650, on the other hand, sports a 5MP front camera, an 8MP rear shooter with an LED flash, and a 5-inch 720p OLED display.

Note that while the $0.99 price tag does require activation (so you'd probably have to pay for a SIM card), Cricket is a prepaid carrier, meaning that there are no contracts. Once you activate the phone, you can cancel the service immediately - but the handset will remain locked to Cricket, and the carrier has strict policies regarding unlocking devices.

But if you want to cash in on this deal, you should probably do it quickly. The Lumia 650 has a history of disappearing from the carrier's website from time to time, and when it reappears, it might not have the same low price. Your alternative would be to purchase the unlocked model from the Microsoft Store, which costs $199.

If you want to check out the deal from Cricket Wireless, you can find it here. In the meantime, check out our review of the device, where we were pretty impressed with it.
