Microsoft is holding a WWDC developer afterparty - no, really

With the Worldwide Developer Conference 2016 hosted by Apple being less than a week away, its rival Microsoft has a plan to poke a little fun at the iPhone-maker and get some attention from its attendees.

The Redmond giant predicts that the first day of the WWDC 2016, which will be this June 13th, will end at around 5 PM, Pacific Time. Once the program is done, Microsoft will hold an afterparty for the WWDC attendees which will be held at Twitter Headquarters, behind the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.

Aside from free food and drinks, a discussion about "the future of apps" will be held, featuring iOS developers from Microsoft. The talk will cover Microsoft's venture into creating iOS apps like Outlook, Office, Skype, Minecraft, and Cortana, among many others. According to the company, Microsoft apps on iOS are setting the "gold standard" when it comes to quality of apps for the platform.

Moreover, Microsoft wants to orient developers into the use of Xamarin, a cross-platform mobile development company it acquired back in February. The Xamarin Test Cloud Wall will be featured at the event, which helps test apps' features on more than a thousand devices..

Microsoft is opening the event not only to those who are attending WWDC, but also for those who are simply interested in going. Attendees are also entitled a chance to win prizes, such as an Apple Watch Sport or an Xbox One. You can RSVP to the event by clicking on the source link.
