Performance comparison test of Linux 5.16 vs previous kernel versions is showing hefty improvements that are in store for AMD's Ryzen, at least for its APUs. The best-case scenario shows a 28% gain.

Last week, an Alder Lake bug on Linux was found in Intel Turbo Boost Max, related to CPPC. This bug is very similar to a recent Ryzen bug on Windows 11. Patch for the issue has been committed.
Linux 5.16-rc1 came out Sunday and an early performance look at the new kernel on Intel's Alder Lake has given really poor results. It's speculated that a recently added feature is causing the issue.
