Acer's ConceptD 7 mobile workstation will have Quadro RTX support

Last month at its next@acer event in New York City, Acer announced the ConceptD lineup, which is aimed at creators. On the laptop side of things though, the PCs included Nvidia's GeForce RTX graphics, being that Nvidia hadn't announced Quadro RTX for laptops yet.

But today at Computex, Nvidia announced exactly that, so Acer is announcing support. The Acer ConceptD 7 now offers up to an Nvidia Quadro RTX 5000 GPU, which includes 16GB GDDR6 and is based on the Turing architecture.

RTX adds features like real-time ray tracing and deep learning super sampling (DLSS), which were previously applied to games with GeForce RTX. But with Quadro RTX, that means being able to build models in mixed reality in minimal time, and faster and more complicated AI tasks. Video editors can easily work with 8K video while they're on the go with a laptop.

Packing up to a ninth-gen Intel Core i7, the ConceptD 7 weighs in at just 4.63 pounds and includes a 15.6-inch 4K PANTONE Validated display. The model with Quadro RTX graphics will be available soon, and pricing wasn't confirmed.
