Ask people what comes into their mind when they hear the name "Lamborghini." Most (or even all) people might answer "expensive cars," "luxury cars," or the like.

It may come as a surprise, but Lamborghini is set to launch a smartphone called the 88 Tauri. This new device will come from the Tonino Lamborghini group, which got its name from the founder himself, who is the son of the man behind the luxury car industry.

The upcoming 88 Tauri runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and features a 5-inch HD display with a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor. It has a hefty 3 GB of RAM, so there is definitely no need to worry about certain apps not running on the device. The device packs a 20-megapixel rear shooter with a sapphire glass lens, and an 8-megapixel front camera, perfect for those selfie moments. You also won't run out of space any time soon, as it contains 64 GB of internal storage. It is also believed that the smartphone will be DSDA (Dual Sim Dual Active) capable. This phone is available in leather and steel, and all of this comes with the heavy price tag of $6,000, making it quite a product exclusive for the well-off individual. There will only be 1,947 (the founder's birth year) units available , and is believed to be available by late December.

Lamborghini is not the first vehicle company to have its name printed out and used on smartphones. BlackBerry, back in 2011, released the BlackBerry Porsche Design P9981. Also, last September, OEM and ODM Italian company New Generation Mobile (NGM) has shown off a Windows Phone device sporting the Harley-Davidson logo during the IFA trade show in Berlin.
