Canalys data for the Southeast Asian region has found that Xiaomi saw a sharp decline in smartphone shipments in the second quarter year-over-year. Samsung was the only firm to increase shipments.

TikTok is reportedly getting into gaming through its mobile app. The games use HTML5 and testing is taking place in Vietnam. The firm could make the feature available in southeast Asia in Q3.

Starting next year, Grab's customers in the Philippines and Singapore will be able to pay at any online and offline merchant using a prepaid card, courtesy of the firm's tie-up with Mastercard.
