Telltale announced the existence of Minecraft: Story Mode - Season Two last month, and right on schedule, the new season's first episode is available now. The first episode is titled Hero in Residence, and marks the return of the familiar cast of characters from the previous season for a new adventure set in the lands of Minecraft. The new season's official trailer is seen above.
As with most Telltale episodic games, this season of Minecraft: Story Mode will consist of five episodes. However, considering the first season received eight episodes in total, it's possible that the second season will also follow suit with some extra episodes.
The series' description provided by Telltale is as follows:
Now that Jesse and the gang have vanquished the Wither Storm, saved the world, and become totally super famous heroes, life has gotten a bit more...complicated. With more responsibilities and less time for adventure, old friendships have started to fade -- at least until Jesse’s hand gets stuck in a creepy gauntlet that belongs to an ancient underwater temple. Together with old pals and new comrades alike, Jesse embarks on a brand new journey filled with tough choices, good times, and at least one temperamental llama.
For returning players, the game will factor in decisions that were made in the previous season, but Mojang has confirmed that anyone entering the series on the second season will not face any issues following the game's storyline.
