The dual-screen nubia Z20 launches globally on October 14

Last year, nubia showed off the nubia X, a prototype for a phone with two screens - one where you'd usually expect it, and another one on the back. However, it was only last month that the company announced the technology would be coming to a real product users can buy, the nubia Z20. So far, it's only been available in China, but today the company announced that the phone will be available on October 14.

The highlight of the phone is obviously in its dual-display, and that also means there are no notches or motorized cameras on this phone. To take a selfie, you can use the rear camera, coupled with the display on the back. The rear panel can also be used as an always-on display, and it even borrows from nubia's Red Magic gaming brand, letting you set triggers on the rear panel to offer better control in games. Also borrowed from Red Magic is the Game Space hub, which will gather your games in one place.

In terms of specs, the front display is 6.42 inches and comes in at Full HD+ (2340 x 1080) resolution, and the rear panel is 5.1 inches. The triple-camera setup is comprised of a 48MP main sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide camera, and an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. It supports 8K and HDR10 10-bit video recording, and it comes with an upgraded Super Night Mode for low-light shots.

As for other specs, we're looking at a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The battery is a 4,000 mAh unit, and it supports fast charging up to 27W.

As mentioned above, the phone will launch on October 14 in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Pricing is yet to be disclosed.
