Apple releases second betas for watchOS 3, tvOS 10, Xcode 8, Apple TV Remote, and more

If you've been dealing with Apple's infamous first round developer betas for the last week, you can rest knowing that the second round is here to ever-so-slightly improve your experience. Today's round of betas include iOS 10, macOS 10.12 Sierra, watchOS 3, tvOS 10, Xcode 8, Apple Configurator 2.3, and Apple TV Remote.

watchOS 3 brings quite a few new features to the Apple Watch, but most importantly it should be faster, as apps will remain in memory for longer. It also ditches Glances in favor of a Control Center and a Dock. Because of this, some features that existed solely in Glances - such as heart rate checking - now have their own app.

tvOS 10 seemed to be the most glossed over OS at Apple's WWDC 2016 conference. There will now be a Dark Mode, along with Siri improvements and more channels. It also adds various iOS frameworks, such as Photos and HomeKit.

Finally, we have goodies like Xcode 8, Apple Configurator 2.3, and the new Apple TV Remote app. Xcode 8 contains support for Swift 3. You'll also need it if you want to flash the new tvOS image from iTunes.

The new Apple TV Remote app includes Siri for the first time - although that feature will not be supported when used with earlier models (2nd and 3rd generation Apple TV) - and it will also support playing games with the accelerometer and gyroscope of your iOS device.

All of today's betas come with a long list of fixes and known issues in the release notes. You can find them over at Apple Developer. All of these seeds are for developers only. The only public betas that we're going to get are for iOS 10 and macOS Sierra, and that will likely come alongside the next Developer Beta.
