Blizzard bans World of Warcraft cheaters

Blizzard Entertainment, developer of MMORPG World of Warcraft, has demonstrated that it intends to live up to its no-nonsense reputation when it comes to dealing with cheaters by revoking the accounts of a number of subscribers identified as using "speed hacks" to accelerate movement in-game.

In an update on the game's official website on Friday, the developer said of the hacks: "This goes against the theme of fair play that we have instituted for the game, and is in clear violation of the World of Warcraft Terms of Use," adding that this website update would serve as a "final warning" to anybody else considering use of the hack.
