Microsoft announces the winners of its Office App Awards 2016

At its Office Awards Ceremony during the Microsoft Ignite Conference in Atlanta this week, the company has finally announced the winners of its competition. The contest aims to encourage developers to build Office apps and add-ins to construct a "productivity experience that is uniquely personal".

Microsoft states that over 28 awards were announced across ten separate categories after several months of evaluation from judges, who considered hundreds of nominations that are available in the Office Store as well as other marketplaces.

Some of the winners include Shutterstock who won the "Best Overall Office prize" by designing a plug-in that provides instant access to over 100 million professional images without leaving PowerPoint, DocuSign which bagged the "Best Mobile App" award for providing the ability to submit and sign documents without leaving the Office application, and Sensei Schedule Analyzer secured the "Best MS Project" award for an add-in that performs quality checks on your project schedule.

Awards were distributed across numerous categories to various other Office apps and add-ins such as Zomato, Boomerang, Document Designer, Pickit, Nintex forms and SideKick 365 xRM Ultimate. You can check out all of these app in the Office Store here.
