Microsoft To Do gets drag-and-drop support and more on iOS

Microsoft is rolling out a new update for its recently-rebranded To Do app on iOS, as well as for the beta version of the app on Android. The iOS variant of To Do is now on version 2.2, and it supports the new dark mode which was added with iOS and iPadOS 13.

It also lets users drag and drop URLs in a task's notes to add them to the note. That text can then be dragged into the task list to create a new task from that note. Here's the full changelog:

  • We’ve turned off the lights! Set your iOS or iPadOS 13 system settings to dark mode and watch To Do embrace the dark side.

  • You can now drag a URL onto a task on iPad from any other app to add it to a note. Drag it to the task list to create a task out of the note.

  • If you’re on iOS or iPadOS 13 you’ll now see a preview card for URLs or be able to watch a video within To Do.

  • We made some iOS 13 fixes.

  • Coming from Wunderlist? You can now import your files across to To Do using our importer, except for Dropbox files.

Meanwhile, those testing the beta version of To Do on Android can now also drag and drop text to perform a variety of tasks. You can drag text into the list of task lists to create a new list, drag text into a list to create a new item, or even do it to create a new step inside a task. You can also drag text into the rich entry bar or the list creation button, so you can add more details to the task or customize the list right away.

If you haven't yet, you can download To Do for iOS from the App Store and for Android from the Play Store. You can sign up for the beta version of the Android app from that page, too.
