Last week HP decided to give out free codes to six apps for its HP TouchPad tablet that would normally be priced from 99 cents to $14.99. If you didn't move quickly to take advantage of the deal you missed out; all of the free codes for those apps were quickly given away. However, HP now has a new set of webOS-based Apps for the tablet that they are giving away via the HP Palm blog.
Two of the apps in this new six pack were released as part of the free app pack last week; they are the $1.99 game Big Boss, where you create your own boss villain and try to defeat the puny heroes, and the 99 cent app Camera for TouchPad, which adds some new features for the TouchPad's camera. The four new apps include Angry Birds Rio HD, a version of the hugely popular Rovio arcade game that's also based on the recent animated movie Rio. It normally is priced at $1.99. Also available via a free game code is Quell HD, a puzzle game with 70 levels that is also priced at $1.99.
The other two apps that are being given away are Pennant, which normally costs $4.99, and FlightPredictor HD which normally sells for $1.99. Pennant is devoted to the nation's pastime, pro baseball, with stats for over 115,000 games from 1952 to 2010. FlightPredictor HD is for all of you travelers out there. It keeps you up to date on airline flight times and any delays that might occur.
