Nvidia may already be reacting to the Radeon RX 5600 XT with a huge price cut on RTX 2060

It's a little surprising to find a new RTX 2060 variant at CES 2020 since it's already been a year that Nvidia had launched the card. Though, what really caught Techpowerup's attention was the price tag of the new EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 KO Edition that EVGA was showing off at its booth. The new card is apparently priced at just $299 which is $50 less than the $349 MSRP of the RTX 2060.

The move seems reactionary to AMD's recent RX 5600 XT $279 price announcement, as Team Red showed the RX 5600 XT easily beating the equally priced GTX 1660 Ti in its benchmarks. It also begs the question of whether Nvidia will enforce the price cut through the entire RTX 2060 lineup.

The RTX 2060 is almost as fast as the RX 5700, often trading blows, and is also equipped with RT cores. Thus, with this discount, Nvidia may be hoping to neutralize the potency of the 5600 XT. If the report turns out to be accurate, this could place AMD in a hard spot if it fails to react accordingly with price cuts on its own products.
