Palm's Android smartphone codenamed 'Pepito' leaks in new image

It was only a few days ago when we reported on an FCC filing that alluded that a new Palm smartphone could be on the way. Now, it looks like an alleged image of the handset has leaked, showing off its quirky design.

As you can see from the image, the Palm smartphone that runs Android looks quite different from what you might expect. Going by the codename 'Pepito', it has a 3.3-inch 720p display, which is quite small, even by older standards. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor, 3GB RAM, and will have 32GB of internal storage space. Along with its small screen, comes a small battery, coming in at 800mAh. Despite these odd specifications, it will be running Android 8.1.

There isn't a release date in tow with the newly leaked image, but it will apparently make its debut in the United States on Verizon. Naturally, this isn't an official image and it could be a mock-up. But if this render happens to come to fruition, it will certainly be an interesting offering.
