Power BI Mobile introduces improved navigation experience, updated headers, and more

In March, Microsoft introduced a bunch of new features to Power BI Mobile, with emphasis on user control. Later in the same month, the tech giant unveiled a performance enhancement for the Power BI service, which soon after made its way to Mobile and Embedded as well.

Today, the latest version of Power BI Mobile has been released, with an improved navigation experience, updated headers, and more being showcased.

For starters, a Navigation tree component has been added, enabling users to access the location hierarchy of their content. Not only does this allow for the visiting of any item in the hierarchy in a single click, but also provides a quick route to sibling content and the home page. If the item happens to be a report page, a list of all visible report pages will also be made available. The feature can be utilized through the header dropdown next to an item's name.

Moving on, headers for reports, dashboards, and apps have been updated, with the introduction of a new 'Share' action. This enables the sharing of links to items through relevant apps that are already installed on a users' device, much like the sharing capability works with mobile apps in general. Additionally, the actions that can be performed through the header have been rearranged. And finally, Microsoft has noted in the changelog for the update that the "pinch and zoom" capability is now available in all report layouts.

The latest version of the Power BI Mobile app can be obtained through the Play Store here, the App Store here, and the Microsoft Store here.
