Prey, Redout, and Jotun are free to claim on the Epic Games Store

Free Prey and Jotun

It is another big giveaway week on the Epic Games Store, as the latest freebie drop has brought in copies of Prey, Redout: Enhanced Edition, and Jotun: Valhalla Edition, replacing Terraforming Mars from last week. PC gamers can now add the fresh trio to their Epic Games library for free.

Developed by Arkane Studios, Prey is the 2017 first-person immersive sim that puts you in the shoes of Morgan Yu, a scientist abroad the Talos I space station. A hostile alien species named Typhon have taken over the station, and you are tasked with taking control of it back with a variety of weapons and powers available.

Here's how the store page describes the setting:

The space station has been overrun by hostile aliens and you are now being hunted. As you dig into the dark secrets of Talos I and your own past, you must survive using the tools found on the station -- your wits, weapons, and mind-bending abilities. The fate of the Talos I and everyone aboard is in your hands.

Next, Redout: Enhanced Edition is zooming in as a sci-fi racing experience. Inspired by classics like F-Zero, WipeOut, Rollcage, and POD, the game tries to always provide breakneck speed racing. Online multiplayer with up to 12 players as well as VR support are also available here.

Here's the description:

Redout is the fastest game ever made. If you can handle it. It's not about the numbers you see on screen, it's about the vibrations, the landscape and buildings flying by, the high-speed collisions, the effects, the sounds, the immersion: everything is meant to feel like you're going FAST.

Last up is Jotun: Valhalla Edition. Developed by Thunder Lotus Games, the game is a hand-drawn action-exploration experience based on North mythology. You take the role of Thora, a Viking blemished with an inglorious death who must now impress the gods to gain entrance to Valhalla.

The store page description states the following:

In Jotun, you play Thora, a Viking warrior who died an inglorious death and must prove herself to the Gods to enter Valhalla. Explore vast regions of Norse Purgatory to find runes to unleash the jotun, giant Norse elementals. Fight them using only your massive two-handed axe, the blessings of the Gods and your skills!

Two of today's freebies have been part of Epic Games giveaways before, with Jotun incoming in 2019 for a week while Prey had a short 1-day freebie promotion in late 2021. Without a sale Prey would set you back $29.99, Redout costs $34.99, and Jotun normally has a $14.99 price tag.

You have until next Thursday, May 19, to claim these free copies of Prey, Redout: Enhanced Edition, and Jotun: Valhalla Edition. Next week, Epic Games Store will restart its mystery giveaways again, signaling the start of a major sale.
