The Red Magic 6R is set to launch globally on June 24th. In the US, the base model with 8 GB RAM will be priced at $499 whereas the 12 GB model will set you back for $599. The Red Magic is a curious phone for closet gamers. The handset offers powerful hardware wrapped in an understated design. The 6R is thinner and lighter when compared to the Red Magic 6 and 6 Pro. The most glaring omission, however, is the lack of RGB light effects.

The Red Magic 6R doesn't skimp on the hardware specs. It is powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 888 chipset. For sustained performance, the handset utilizes a vapor cooling chamber and thermal gel for heat dissipation.

The phone sports a 6.6-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution. To provide users with a competitive advantage in multiplayer games, the display is tuned for a 144 Hz refresh rate and 360 Hz touch sampling. The phone also has capacitive shoulder triggers.

Moving onto the photography department, the Red Magic 6R comes with a quad-camera setup in 64 MP + 8 MP + 5 MP + 2 MP configuration. The main camera can shoot 8K videos at 30 fps and 4K at 60 fps. For selfies, there's a 16 MP snapper.

The Red Magic 6R packs in a 4,200 mAh battery with 30 W quick-charging support. The phone runs Android 11.0 with Red Magic's OS 4.0 customization. Apart from the US, the 6R will be available for purchase in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and most parts of Europe.
