Students Collaborate On New Video Game

Students in eight universities amongst four different countries worked together to compile a new game in 12 weeks.

The game, "Descent to the Underworld", is based on the Game-Film platform. Instead of the traditional method of a player accumulating points, the player will use his or her moves to unfold a story. Film clips will be displayed depending on the path the player chooses, all based on different cultures.

Without Internet2, the new network capable of 100 megabits per second, this project would have not been possible. Internet2 gave the students at all eight universities the ability to transfer files in real-time.
