Super Smartphone Showdown Part 4: Performance

We're back again for another part of the Super Smartphone Showdown, and today we actually managed to get the video up and ready on time. Today is part four, and we look at the performance of each of the five devices - you'll see a benchmark run simultaneously on all the devices, plus some quick gaming and a look at the other specifications of the devices.

Here's a quick rundown of each device used in the showdown, and what chipset is used inside each device:

  • HTC One XL
    Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 (MSM8960): 1.5 GHz dual-core Krait CPU + Adreno 225 GPU + 1 GB RAM
  • Samsung Galaxy S III:
    Samsung Exynos 4 Quad: 1.4 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU + Mali-400 MP4 GPU + 1 GB RAM
  • Sony Xperia S:
    Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 (MSM8260): 1.5 GHz dual-core Scorpion CPU + Adreno 220 GPU + 1 GB RAM
  • Motorola Droid Razr:
    TI OMAP 4430: 1.2 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU + PowerVR SGX540 GPU + 1 GB RAM
  • LG Optimus 4X HD:
    NVIDIA Tegra 3: 1.5 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU + Kal-El ULP GeForce GPU + 1 GB RAM
