Microsoft is trying to get former Apple MobileMe users who are about to lose their free iCloud storage to come use SkyDrive with an offer of an extra 15 GB of free space for one year.

iCloud, the successor to MobileMe, has been found to censor emails which include the words "barely legal teen", a move which has raised questions about the reliability to Apple's email service.

Apple has unexpectedly given an extension to the free iCloud storage space for old MobileMe users. The free iCloud data storage will now end for those users on September 30, 2013.

Apple's now redundant MobileMe service will officially cease on September 30th, forcing users who transitioned to iCloud to pay for the 20GB of cloud storage Apple have been providing for free.

Apple has now completely shut down its MobileMe service, and is offering users a last ditch chance to switch to MobileMe's successor, iCloud for a "limited time" before all data is erased.
