With an art style faithful to the original anime series, a brand new Dragon Ball Z fighting game was announced at Microsoft's E3 convention. Titled, Dragon Ball FighterZ, the game is a 2D fighting title set in the renowned Dragon Ball universe. The game is being developed by Arc System Works, the studio behind the Guilty Gear franchise.

The gameplay trailer seen at the event showcased a range of recognizable Dragon Ball Z characters such as Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Frieza, Majin Buu and more. The Saiyans are shown in various Super Saiyan transformations as well.

The game will feature three vs. three team battles that take place in locales set in the anime universe, with multiple fighting styles to master with each character.

Dragon Ball FighterZ will be available in early 2018 for the Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 with some added enhancements on the Xbox One X, although exactly what these enhancements are, haven't been confirmed just yet. The trailer description also adds that a closed beta on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will take place before summer's end, with "more info coming soon".
