Fortnite has a massive following and, despite the game being free-to-play, it has generated a tremendous amount of revenue for developer Epic Games through the sale of extras like costumes and other loot. The game made its debut on iOS in mid-March and has since generated more than $15 million.
The data comes by way of SensorTower, an analytics firm, which reports that in just the past week alone, the game has earned $6.4 million. The title was seeing around $620,00 daily during its invite-only period and that number has nearly tripled when it became open to the public. Just to put this into perspective, it is outperforming older juggernauts that have consistently been at the top of the charts like Candy Crush, Clash of Clans, and Pokémon Go.
If you have yet to experience Fortnite, it is a sandbox survival game that offers co-op play and adds a little bit of a twist by giving players to ability to build structures that could aid them in their quest to victory by providing a handy means of defense or providing a means to outmaneuver the competition. If interested, the game can be downloaded from the iOS App Store.
