Google Assistant gets new and improved answers on Android

Google Assistant for Android is getting a slew of improvements, mostly focusing on the search UI and how results are displayed. Now, search result cards will more clearly display the relevant information to answer your queries. There are also some new features on board.

For example, if you look up cute cats, in addition to a list of the cutest species of cats, the Assistant will present pictures for each of them. Looking up stock prices for companies will display a graph with information from the recent past, searching for events will provide more visual elements to help you identify each result, and so on.

In addition to UI improvements, there are some actual new tools to answer more of your queries. There's now a bubble level built into the experience, a color picker with hex codes, a tip calculator, and a mortgage calculator.

Google has been making a lot of improvements to its Assistant over the past few months, mostly adding new features such as Interpreter mode, but today's update is more focused on improving the basics. The new experience is rolling out now to users on Android, and it's not currently clear when it will make its way to iOS.
