Hp tells notebook OEM's not to deal with Asus

DigiTimes is reporting that HP has sent out a notice to it's partners demanding they not accept orders from Asustek, and threatening that if anyone violates the demand, the company will penalize the maker by reducing its own outsourcing volume, according to the notebook makers.

Its claimed the reason for the move is due to ASUS' published goal of becoming the 4th largest notebook vender after the success of its EEE PC Net book shot it up the ranks due to its popularity.

Although there seems to be some discrepancy due to the fact that ASUS is a relatively small vender compared to the #1 vender Acer or even the current 4th place vender Lenevo.
