iOS 11.1.2 fixes iPhone X unresponsiveness issues in the cold

When Apple released the iPhone X a couple of weeks ago, customers quickly started noticing that when it gets cold out, their phone may become frustratingly unresponsive. The company said that it's not a hardware issue, and that a fix is coming. Today, that fix is here in the form of iOS 11.1.2.

The update is only available for the iPhone X, so we can assume that it doesn't fix the GPS issues that both iPhone X and iPhone 8/8 Plus users have been having. It does fix one other issue though, which caused Live Photos and videos recorded with the X to look distorted.

It's not clear whether this has been fixed with the latest iOS 11.2 beta, which was released earlier this week. We experienced the issue before that build was released, and it didn't seem to be there after, but that could be circumstantial. If it's not fixed in the betas by now, it will be when the next one is released.

There are no additional security fixes in iOS 11.1.2, as it contains the same security content as 11.1.1.
