Microsoft announced the Games with Gold for September 2017 today. If you're an Xbox Live Gold member, you should definitely be checking these out every month, as it offers four free games (two Xbox One and two backward compatible Xbox 360), as long as you claim them within the specified dates.

Forza Motorsport 5: Racing Game of the Year Edition (Xbox One, September 1 - 30)
The Forza Motorsport 5 Racing Game of the Year Edition includes the Top Gear Car Pack, including ten additional cars for you to collect, race, and customize, featuring the 2013 Holden #10 Holden Xbox Racing Team Commodore VF, 1966 Chaparral #66 Chaparral Cars 2E and the 2013 Audi RS4 Avant. Forza Motorsport 5 is your ultimate car fantasy, only possible on Xbox One. Oxenfree (Xbox One, September 16 - October 15)
Oxenfree is a supernatural thriller about a group of friends who unwittingly open a ghostly rift. The night takes a terrifying turn when you unwittingly open a ghostly gate spawned from the island’s cryptic past. Hydro Thunder (Xbox 360, September 1 - 15)
This all-new sequel to the legendary arcade hit features amazing dynamic water physics, transformable rocket-powered boats, gorgeous visuals and over-the-top interactive environments. Single player games include Race and Championship, and two brand new modes: Ring Master and the explosive Gauntlet. Combine local 4-player split-screen and online multiplayer games with 8 players over Xbox LIVE.
Battlefield 3 (Xbox 360, September 16 - 30)

Interestingly, Battlefield 3 is listed on the Backward Compatibility list as only being supported with the physical disc. Presumably, additional support will be added prior to September 16.
Also, it's not too late to grab some of this month's Games with Gold. You've got until the end of the month to claim Slime Rancher (Xbox One) and Red Faction: Armageddon (Xbox 360), and until September 15 to get Trials Fusion (Xbox One).
