Motorola's revival of the razr name, which comes in the form of a flip phone-style foldable, is set to be released this week on February 6, though if you order it now, the expected delivery date is February 25. Currently, the phone is available in a single color option, Noir Black, but that could be changing in the near future.
Renowned leakster Evan Blass shared images of a gold-colored variant of the razr on Twitter today, and it's, well, a gold version of the same phone. This variant covers the rear portion of the external cover of the phone in a gold color, including the bar below the external camera. The ring around the camera lens is also golden. Aside from the aesthetic changes, nothing appears to be different about this model.
That Motorola razr has proven to be a lot more popular than the company originally anticipated, which even resulted in a delayed launch due to overwhelming demand. Even with the new release date, shipping dates are already being pushed back significantly for new orders.
Motorola likely won't be alone in the vertical foldable phone segment for long, as Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip during its Unpacked event next week. That device has been reported to pack a significantly more powerful chipset and generally better specs, so it could be a significant threat to the razr.
