Ninja Theory unveils Project: Mara, a game that will "recreate the horrors of the mind"

Ninja Theory announced today that it has a new game in development at the studio, which currently has the name Project: Mara attached to it. The experimental horror game is being made by a small team in the studio alongside the ongoing development of the upcoming team-based multiplayer title Bleeding Edge and the more recently announced Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2.

A first look at Project: Mara can be seen in the developer video Ninja Theory published today, caught at the 5:55 mark below:

As Ninja Theory describes it, the game will be a "real-world and grounded representation of mental terror" that will be based on "real lived experience accounts and in-depth research," with a focus on accuracy and realism.

Project: Mara will only feature a single character, and the entirety of it will take place in a single location.

A release date was not announced today, and neither were the platforms the game will arrive on. However, with Ninja Theory being an Xbox Game Studios developer, the title should be heading to Xbox consoles and Windows PCs.
