OnePlus 2 gets updated to OxygenOS 3.6.0, including June Android security patches

OnePlus is rolling out a new update for the OnePlus 2, bumping up its software to OxygenOS 3.6.0. The update isn't exactly overflowing with new additions, but it does include the Android security patches for June.

Aside from that, the only 'new feature' is that OnePlus has updated the timezone for Turkey to GMT+3. It also includes two bug fixes:

  • Fixed VoLTE related issues in India
  • Fixed device not being able to automatically register on 4G networks

Unfortunately, if you were hoping that this update might bring an upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat, that's not going to happen. Despite promising that the OnePlus 2 would get Nougat last year, the company never delivered on that commitment; last month, it finally admitted that the update will never come.

Last week, OnePlus released its latest OxygenOS beta for the 3 and 3T, including an 'all-new' launcher.
