Battlefield V joins Origin Access Basic subscription, no longer behind Premier

There haven't been any official announcements yet, but DICE's Battlefield V has joined Origin Access's Basic tier. This change arrives over six months after the WWII shooter has been offered through the Premier tier of EA's subscription program, which was made available even before the game launched for regular players.

Battlefield V doesn't have any paid expansions or season pass content, so this version is the full game that comes with the episodic War Stories single-player campaign, all multiplayer modes, and even the recent Firestorm battle royale mode.

This addition may be something EA plans to properly announce during its EA Play E3 event on June 8, though there's nothing stopping Origin Access Basic subscribers from jumping in right now.

The Origin Access Basic tier comes in at $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year, a far cry from Premier tier's $14.99 per month and $99.99 per year price points. The company has also made available a 7-day free trial of Basic for those who are interested in trying out the over 200 games-strong service. Of course, Battlefield V is also playable through the trial.

If there are issues with adding the game to the library while using the Origin client, we recommend logging into Origin through the browser and claiming the game from there instead, which is what worked for us at Neowin.
