California Microsoft Store hosting Smoked by Windows Phone

Microsoft's "Smoked by Windows Phone" marketing campaign has been a pretty successful one as Microsoft tries to prove that using a Windows Phone-based device can be faster than any other smartphone. The campaign started in January during CES 2012. Now Microsoft is taking it to its Microsoft Store locations.

The Windows Phone blog announced that today from 2 to 8 pm PT, Microsoft's Ben Rudolph will be at the South Coast Plaza Microsoft Store location in Costa Mesa, California. Ben states that he will once again take all comers in a  "head-to-head speed challenge on a common task that real people do every day."

If you happen to be at the story today and if your smartphone manages to beat Ben's Windows Phone in the Smoked by Windows Phone challenge, Ben will hand you $100 cash. However if you lose we suspect that Ben might have some consolation prizes such as a free Windows Phone device to give out.

Ben will be offering up some real time updates on his battles with non-Windows Phone users on his Twitter page today in case you can't make it to the Costa Mesa Microsoft Store. He also hints that he will be doing this challenge again at another Microsoft Store location soon.
