Epic Games Store achievement support begins rolling out next week

Epic Games Store Achievements feature

Epic Games is finally fully integrating achievement into its PC gaming client sometime next week starting with a limited number of titles. Developer tools for studios to easily add achievement support on the platform are also launching at the same time.

The first wave of games gaining full achievements support include Alan Wake Remastered, Rocket League, Hades, Pillars of Eternity, Kena, Zombie Army 4, and others. "Over the last year, we’ve worked closely with some of our development partners to bring Epic Achievements to life," adds Epic Games. "We’re working to get these tools to more developers, so you can expect to see Epic Achievements popping up in your favorite games later this year."

While an early version of achievements that were handled by game developers rolled out on the Epic Games Store a year ago, the new system is coming in with better support and more features. Dubbed "Developer Achievements", these will remain functional even if the studios in charge of them don’t upgrade to the new system.

Akin to Xbox or PlayStation achievement tracking systems, Epic Achievements will contain XP and rank elements that show up on player profiles. Here's the breakdown on the ranks and their XP that relevant achievements give out:

  • Bronze = 5-45 XP
  • Silver = 50-95 XP
  • Gold = 100-200 XP
  • Platinum = 250 XP

To keep track of locked, unlocked, and in-progress achievements, every title with support for the feature is gaining additional detailed pages on the store and the client library sections.

Looking towards the future, the company teased more social features and player rewards systems will be coming to the Epic Games Store later this year.
