Facebook makes it easier to hide annoying posts from friends

Facebook users will now be able to decide whose posts they see in an easier manner as the social network has updated the controls for the News Feed.

In the recent past, Facebook has been working hard on cleaning up the News Feed to improve the user experience and increase engagement. For this purpose, the company has many algorithms in place to decide which posts are relevant to the user or the friends whose updates are more important than the others based on interactions such as likes and comments.

Now, Facebook is rolling out updated controls to make it easier to get relevant posts in the News Feed and hide irrelevant ones by unfollowing the friends or pages in one place, rather than visiting each profile individually. To view a particular friend's posts first, the user simply needs to tap on their profile picture in the News Feed preferences. The same applies for unfollowing through the preferences.

The updated controls are currently available for the iOS app users and the feature will be rolled out to Android and web users within this week.
