iPad 2 leaked image suggests February 9 announcement

Now that the Verizon iPhone has been announced, the next Apple item to take center stage will be the iPad 2. There has been a lot of speculation about when it will be launched, but a recently discovered image has a date of February 9th on the home screen. Interestingly enough, the original iPad promo images have a 27 as the date, that's the same day it was announced.

Could it really be this easy? 9to5mac pointed this out but if you take it one step further and look at the iPhone 4 promo images, they show a 7 as the date. The iPhone 4 was announced on June 7. It seems a bit odd that two dates have lined up perfectly with the promo images that Apple is currently using. February 9 is a Wednesday and the original iPad was announced on January 27, also a Wednesday.

To add even more evidence to the speculation, the iPhone 3G was announced on June 9 and this also ties to their promo images.

Has Apple's promo images finally caught up with them, has their secret code finally been broken? We will finally know on February 9 but as it stands right now, the last two major product announcements for the company have occurred on the dates in their promo images.
