Samsung and Microsoft's partnership has been expanding over time, with exclusive features for Samsung phones in the Windows 10 Your Phone app, syncing between Samsung Notes and OneNote, and other integrations. It looks like Samsung wants to improve the link between its phones and Windows 10 PCs even further, as three new apps in development have been spotted by Italian website Aggiornamenti Lumia.
There are three new apps in the works, though you can't get them yet - Quick Share, Samsung Free, and Samsung O. Quick Share is a feature that's been part of Samsung phones since OneUI 2, and it allows users to share content quickly using Wi-Fi Direct connections. Similar solutions have sprung up from Google with Nearby share or the Files by Google app, but with Quick Share available on Windows 10, that improved sharing experience would also work between phones and PCs. Some apps already do this, of course, such as in the case of Feem, but this feature is already built into Samsung phones, and could potentially be pre-installed on some Windows 10 PCs to make the process easier.
Samsung Free is a sort of successor to Samsung Daily, the feed you see on the left side of Samsung's One UI launcher. With the Galaxy S21 series, Samsung Daily made way for the Google feed, but you can still get a similar experience in the Samsung Free app. The app includes a News section for written news online, a Play section that houses some free games, and a Watch section in markets where Samsung TV Plus is available. It's unclear if there will be any sort of connectivity between the phone and PC versions of the app.
Finally, Samsung O is a mysterious app that's apparently similar to Samsung Free based on the information available right now. It's unknown why this is a separate app, and it could well be just a test by Samsung. None of the apps are available as of yet, so we'll have to wait and see when they're released.
