There's already a tutorial for installing Windows 10X on actual hardware

Ever since Microsoft announced Windows 10X back in October, it's been the new hotness. After all, there hasn't been something new like this with Windows 10 since, well, Windows 10 was born out of the early Technical Previews of late 2014 and early 2015.

Earlier this week, the company released the first Windows 10X emulator, giving many their first opportunity to play around with the OS. Of course, it was only a matter of time until someone got it running on actual hardware, and that's exactly what happened yesterday.

Now, there's actually a tutorial for installing it. And no kids, you probably shouldn't try this at home; if you do, you're absolutely doing it at your own risk. Chances are that if you don't have an understanding of the steps that you're taking, you're not going to be able to do it. It's not a simple procedure like the one created for installing full Windows 10 on a Lumia 950.

Steve Troughton-Smith was able to get Windows 10X running on a Surface Go, and apparently the experience is pretty smooth, more so than running it in a Hyper-V VM.

Of course, the next step is probably for someone to create a more streamlined installation experience, like the one described above for Windows on ARM running on the Lumia 950. We're not there yet though, and you should probably stay away from this one.
