Xiaomi's Mi MIX 3 could arrive with rear-mounted fingerprint reader

We have seen and heard a lot about Xiaomi's upcoming Mi MIX 3 and it looks like we might be getting one more detail prior to its release.

If a newly leaked image is accurate, the Mi MIX 3 will arrive with a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. This isn't a complete disappointment, but some nearly bezel-less display phones have taken things a step further than just offering a large screen and have also recently started incorporated in-display fingerprint readers. Naturally, since these are unofficial images of the phone, it could be different when it is released.

The Mi MIX 3 should be a beast of a phone, making use of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor and could potentially be packing 10GB RAM. The other unique selling point will be that it will arrive with 5G compatibility. The upcoming handset is the first in the Mi MIX series to have a completely different design from its predecessors. The unit will offer a sliding front face that will reveal front-facing camera and various sensors which seems to be trend, as Lenovo and Honor will debut similar style handsets soon.

Xiaomi is scheduled to announce the full details of the Mi MIX 3 on October 25.
