You can now pay your Capital One bill with Amazon's Alexa

Amazon is constantly adding new features to its Alexa voice assistant. They're also frequently adding devices that support it, including the recently announced Echo Dot and Amazon Tap.

Today, Capital One is announcing Alexa integration. The feature works with all Alexa devices, including all Fire TV devices, Echo, Echo Dot, and Amazon Tap.

To set it up, the user must enable the skill from the Alexa app. The app will then ask for credentials from the user's Capital One online account, to agree to terms and conditions, and to set up an optional passcode.

Here are a couple examples of what the user can say:

  • “Alexa, ask Capital One for my Quicksilver Card balance”

  • “Alexa, ask Capital One for recent transactions on my checking account”

  • “Alexa, ask Capital One when is my credit card payment due?”

  • “Alexa, ask Capital One to pay my credit card bill”

Amazon is adding features to Alexa at a very rapid pace. Just a week ago, Nest announced Alexa integration. In fact, when a user adds a skill through the Alexa app, there's 36 pages. Luckily, there's a search function.
